Crustaceans & Echinderms

  • The similarity between Crustaceans and Echinoderms is that they both have bilateral symmetry when the Echinoderm is in the larvae stage.
  • The differences between Crustaceans and Echinoderms are Echindoerms have endoskeleton where as Crustaceans have exoskeletons. Crustaceans molt, Echinoems do not. Echinoderms have spiky skin and Crustaceans do not.

Signs of Spring :)

 Sign #1
In obersvation number one we walked down into the
woods and I found some small flower buds getting ready
to open up. I heard a lot of people talking, birds
chirping, and cars going by. I felt mostly wind blowing on
my face and hands and a little tiny bit of the sun.

Sign #2

In observation number two, we kept walking and
found more flower buds! This time the sun was
beaming right on my face. I didn't want to move.
The wind was blowing but only a little. I heard more
talking from the other students & I saw the pond
and the water moving.

 Sign #3
In observation number three I found a small purple
flower, about to open up, on the ground. I head
horns in the background coming from the bus lot
and some of the other students singing. I felt more
warmth coming from the sun. I saw water and
flower buds.

In the first picture we put a little bit of icing on the bottom
of the graham cracker to stick it to the paper towel. The
graham cracker represented the plexiglas plate. We then
spread the icing all around the top of the graham cracker
to represent the Extracellular Polymeric Substance. We then
spread all sorts of different sprinkles around on the icing
acting as spat, larvae, and spores sticking to the plate. We
then attached a lifesaver to the top of it all to represent the
bolt. We then took a picture of the graham cracker. After
we took the first picture we added marshmellows to our
graham crackers to represent the adult forms. We then took
another picture as the final results.

Plankton Wars.

The original day the class did the plankton wars I was
not here so I had to make mine on my own. I took two,
half, straws and put them criss-cross. I took the pink
clay and put a wad of it on top of the two straws. I
then took little pieces of clay and stuck them to the end
of each straw. I put two eyes on the clay and drew a
smiley face. My plankton did not sink. He stayed at the
top of the water.
